Part of the charm of this house is that it is part of a property with a Palazzo that dates back 1762 and this new part is in perfect harmony with the old architecture and reflects the style of an Old Masseria. The milan based architect reproduced the same design of Masserias using all local stone and material. It has a loft style living room with a fire place and a big table that can sit 16 people. Hanging on the walls large art works belonging to the private collection of the owners and many design objects. There is a bedroom and a bathroom in the main floor and 2 bedrooms on the first floor that you access through very elegant and stylish external stairs. Giurdignano is located 50 minutes from the airport of Brindisi and 30 minutes from the city of Lecce, famous for its baroque architecture. A car is necessary to move around the area as public transportation is limited. Car rental is found in Brindisi at the airport and in other locations. Taxis and private drivers are available in Otranto. A bicycle rental service is available including a tour guide. The house is located in a village with 1700 people and is placed at the center of a vast olive tree area, it is 10 minutes by car from the beaches and the port and town of Otranto. It is famous for the presence of megalithic monuments dolmen or menhir. The house is situated in the center of town, next to the lovely piazza with a church and other historic palaces and walking distance from coffee bars and restaurants. There is the possibility to have a maid service every day that charges 10 euros per hour. There is a final cleaning charge of 150 euros. The price includes gas, water and towels and linens and a daily gardener that takes care of the swimming pool and the plants. Upon request he can also transport people to/from the airport for an extra charge and organize boat trips with the house's fishermen wooden boat moored in the port of Otranto. Excluded is the air condition during the summer and heating during the winter. We can also organize yoga and cooking lessons upon request. Any day changeover apart from July & August which are Saturdays only. There is a deposit cheque of Euro 1000 to be given at the beginning of the stay and will be returned at the end if there have been no damages to the house.
