The area is an oasis of verdant citrus and olive groves, surrounded by a semicircle of mountains, an ideal base for all kinds of outdoor activities, only a stone throw away from the Ionian Sea. Krestena is a picturesque friendly village with sufficient infrastructure to meet resident and visitors` needs. The owners provide a wealth of information and maps on the area. Near Krestena are a 20km long beach that lies 5km from my house and the Olympia ancient stadium as well as an archaeological site in about 10km. There is also the temple of Apollo, built by Iktinos, the same Iktinos who built Parthenon and Akropolis. You have also beautiful villages like Kyparisia (36km), Andritsena(38km), Karitena with its famous stone bridge and medieval castle (50km) many medieval monasteries and the river Neda where you can swim in waterfalls and see old bridges.
